MADELINE
MUSIC VIDEO
"Madeline," an official selection of the 2025 Nashville Film Festival, is a stop-motion music video I shot, directed, and edited for wilfy’s song, Madeline. I made this video as a final project for a music video production class I took at Brown, and I wanted to challenge myself with a new filmmaking medium. I was inspired by the jaunty beat of the guitar throughout the song to make it a stop-motion video, something I hadn’t done before. The lyrics inspired a lot of fun visuals for the song—shoelaces, rain clouds, telephones, and more. I also paid special attention to production design inspired by Wil and their apartment, as well as their purposes behind writing the song. In “Madeline,” viewers follow a shoelace as it dances across the screen on a valiant journey. But don't be fooled by the upbeat melody and playful main character, when you listen to the lyrics it reveals the film's true meaning.
